Technical SEO Services
Technical SEO is the foundation that everything else is built on. You can have the best content strategy and the strongest backlink profile in your industry. But if Google can’t crawl, render, and index your pages correctly, none of it matters.

I’ve fixed technical SEO problems across WordPress, Shopify, Wix, Webflow, and enterprise CMS platforms, for clients ranging from early-stage startups to brands with hundreds of thousands of indexed pages.

What Technical SEO Actually Is

Technical SEO is the process of ensuring your website meets the standards Google’s crawlers require to find, understand, and rank your pages. It covers the infrastructure that sits beneath your content: how your site is built, how fast it loads, how it’s structured, and how clearly it communicates what each page is about to search engine bots.
Most websites have technical SEO problems. The majority of business owners don’t know they exist. They manifest silently, as rankings that plateau for no obvious reason, pages that don’t appear in Google despite good content, traffic drops that coincide with algorithm updates, or conversion rates that underperform because the site is slow on mobile.
The areas I work across:
Crawlability and indexation: ensuring Google can find every page that should rank and is not wasting crawl budget on pages that shouldn’t. Includes robots.txt configuration, XML sitemaps, crawl directives, and log file analysis.
Site architecture: the structural logic of how your pages are organised, how internal links distribute authority, and how URL structures signal relevance to Google.
Page speed and Core Web Vitals: Google uses page experience as a ranking signal. LCP, CLS, and INP scores directly affect your ability to rank in competitive SERPs. I diagnose, prioritise, and fix the issues, and liaise with your developers to implement them correctly.
Mobile optimisation: Google indexes your mobile version first. If your mobile site has structural, speed, or usability issues your desktop site doesn’t, you’re being ranked on the weaker version.
Structured data and schema markup: communicating context to Google beyond what your content alone conveys. Enables rich results, knowledge panels, and enhanced SERP features that improve click-through rate.
Canonical tags and duplicate content: one of the most common and silently damaging issues I find in audits. Duplicate or near-duplicate content splits ranking signals across multiple URLs and confuses Google about which version to rank.
HTTPS and security: ensuring your site is properly secured, redirect chains are resolved, and mixed content issues aren’t undermining your trust signals.
JavaScript SEO: for sites built with React, Vue, Next.js or other JS frameworks, ensuring that dynamically rendered content is being crawled and indexed correctly. A consistently underestimated problem that I diagnose properly.
International SEO and hreflang: for businesses targeting multiple countries or languages, ensuring hreflang implementation is technically correct and that Google is serving the right version to the right audience.

Why hire Luca Tagliaferro SEO Consultant?
This is worth being direct about.
Technical SEO is complex, detail-intensive work. When you hire an agency, what typically happens is this: a senior SEO signs the proposal, hands the account to a mid-weight executive, who assigns the technical audit to a junior analyst using a template. The recommendations come back in a 40-slide deck. Implementation gets passed to your developers. Nobody takes ownership of the outcome.
I’ve seen this pattern repeatedly, often as the consultant called in to fix what an agency left behind.
When you work with me, the dynamic is fundamentally different:
You work directly with the person doing the work. I conduct every audit, write every recommendation, and stay involved through implementation and QA.
The diagnosis is always custom. I use Screaming Frog, Google Search Console, log file analysis, PageSpeed Insights, and Lighthouse, not automated audit tools that flag the same 50 generic issues on every site. Every recommendation is specific to your site, your CMS, and your ranking objectives.
Prioritisation is commercial, not technical. A typical crawl of a 5,000-page website surfaces hundreds of technical issues. Most of them don’t matter. What matters is the subset of issues that are actively costing you rankings, traffic, or conversions right now. That distinction requires seniority and judgment.
I speak to your developers in their language. Technical recommendations fail most often not because they’re wrong but because they’re communicated poorly to the development team. I write developer-ready specifications, provide annotated code examples where relevant, and stay available to answer questions during implementation.
No long-term contracts required. My technical SEO engagements are structured around the work that needs doing.

What a Technical SEO Engagement With Me Looks Like
Stage 1: Technical Audit
A full diagnostic of your site’s technical health: crawl analysis, indexation review, page speed assessment, mobile performance, structured data, internal linking architecture, and duplicate content mapping. Delivered as a prioritised action plan, not a list of raw errors. Also check my very popular SEO audit service.
Stage 2: Implementation Support
I work alongside your development team (or implement directly in your CMS where possible) to resolve the prioritised issues. I provide clear, developer-ready documentation for every fix, QA the implementation, and verify the results in Search Console.
Stage 3: Ongoing Monitoring
For clients on retainer, I monitor your technical health continuously: catching regressions after deployments, identifying new issues before they compound, and adapting the strategy as your site grows.
These stages can be engaged separately or as a continuous programme depending on your needs and team structure.

Who I Work With
I’ve carried out technical SEO work across a wide range of industries and CMS platforms, including:
E-commerce : Shopify, WooCommerce, and custom-built stores where crawl efficiency, faceted navigation, and duplicate product variants are the dominant technical challenges. I’ve worked with e-commerce brands at scale, including sites with 250,000+ indexed pages.
Professional services: law firms, consultancies, and financial services businesses where a slow, poorly structured legacy website is quietly undermining rankings for high-value keywords.
Health and fitness: wellness brands, training providers, and clinic websites where mobile performance and structured data (particularly LocalBusiness and MedicalBusiness schema) have direct impact on local pack visibility.
Automotive and transport: PCO car hire and fleet businesses where location page architecture and local schema are the primary technical levers.
WordPress and Wix: I have specific, deep experience in technical SEO for both platforms, including the performance issues that affect both and the CMS-specific configuration work required to resolve them.
Frequently Asked Questions
What’s the difference between a technical SEO audit and technical SEO services?
An audit is a one-time diagnostic, it identifies problems and tells you what to fix. Technical SEO services cover the ongoing work of fixing, monitoring, and maintaining your site’s technical health. Most clients need both: an audit to establish the baseline, followed by implementation support and ongoing monitoring to maintain it.
My site was built recently: do I still need a technical SEO review?
Yes. Most web developers build for design and functionality, not search engine accessibility. I regularly find significant technical SEO issues in sites launched within the past 12 months, particularly around crawl directives, schema, page speed, and internal linking architecture.
Can you work directly with my development team?
Yes, and this is often how the best work gets done. I provide developer-ready specifications for every recommendation, join technical calls when needed, and QA all implementations before signing them off.
Do you work on JavaScript-heavy sites?
Yes. Rendering issues are one of the most frequently misdiagnosed technical SEO problems. I use Google Search Console’s URL Inspection tool alongside manual rendering tests to accurately diagnose whether JavaScript content is being crawled and indexed correctly.
Is technical SEO worth the investment for a small site?
Often, yes because small sites typically have a small number of high-value pages that need to rank, and a single crawl or indexation issue can suppress all of them simultaneously. The ROI on fixing a robots.txt misconfiguration or a noindex tag applied in error can be immediate and significant.
How do I get started?
Book a free 30-minute technical consultation. I’ll ask about your site, your CMS, your current rankings situation, and what you’ve already tried. From there I’ll give you an honest assessment of what I expect to find and what a realistic engagement would look like.
